I was asked to preach at my church last Sunday. It was the 5th Sunday of Lent. The passage was John 11:1-44. It's that amazing passage where Jesus willingly heads back to the town he knows he'll be killed in so that he can raise his dear friend Lazarus from death.
I've come to realize that most of us fear death more than anything... because we don't trust that only goodness lies on the other side of death!
What a difference that could make in our lives if we were able to willingly submit ourselves to the large and small deaths we are invited into each day and find that even fuller life is waiting for us on the other side!
