The Centered
Leader
A two-day performance retreat
for leaders who are already good
and know they can be sharper
You have built something real. You are good at this. And somewhere in the relentless forward motion of leading, the quality of your thinking under pressure stopped being what it used to be.
Two days to change that.
This retreat is for you if
You recognize yourself
in any of these
There is a decision you have been circling for weeks and you can feel the quality of your thinking degrading under the weight of it.
Your team needs you at your best right now and you are aware that survival brain has been showing up more than your wise brain lately.
2026 has something significant in it. A transition, a growth inflection, a moment that requires your clearest thinking and steadiest presence.
You are carrying the weight of your position alone and have not had a genuinely honest conversation about what it costs you in longer than you would like to admit.
You lead better when you are grounded. You just have not had uninterrupted time to actually get there.
You are ready to do something genuinely different. Not another day of frameworks and slides. Something that actually changes how Monday morning feels.
The Two Days
What actually
happens
This is not a conference room with slides. It is a carefully designed two-day arc that moves through the city, through the body, and through the inner landscape of your leadership.
See Clearly
We begin somewhere warm and unhurried. The morning moves through an experience designed to surface what you have been carrying as a leader — the internal voices, the patterns, the cost. The afternoon puts your hands in clay. You leave with something named and one question to sit with overnight.
Lead Wisely
Day Two builds from what the overnight surfaced. We move through the Sage framework, peer coaching circles, and the centrepiece of the retreat: a guided visualization to meet the version of yourself who has already navigated what you are facing. The afternoon closes with tools for Monday morning and a final pottery session — a small commitment made visible. Then a long, unhurried meal together.
Why pottery
You will think this part
is not for you
"That reaction is the whole point."
Senior leaders spend their days in abstraction, strategy, and language. The analytical brain is always on. Working with clay forces it offline — not as a break from performance, but as a direct route to it. When your hands are occupied, the part of your brain that produces your clearest thinking finally has room to surface. Every leader in this room will make something they did not expect. What your hands produce will tell you more about where you are as a leader than any assessment you have ever completed.
What you leave with
Four things that work
on Monday morning
Your Pattern Interrupt
A specific micro-practice for catching the internal voice that degrades your decision quality — the moment it activates. Built from what surfaced over two days, not from a workbook.
Your Clarity Trigger
A specific sensory anchor that shifts your brain from reactive to discerning in under 10 seconds. Built for high-stakes moments — board meetings, difficult conversations, decisions under pressure.
One Decision You Have Been Avoiding
Most leaders leave knowing exactly what they have been circling. This time you leave with the clarity to act on it — and a physical object on your desk that holds you to it.
An Integration Call Two Weeks Later
A private 30-minute call with Nancy included in your investment. What opened in the room gets built into how you actually lead.
"Box breathing calmed my body, but my mind kept throwing grenades. Mental Fitness reps changed the game. Those 10-second moments of intense focus pull me out of my head and calm my body at the same time — and sharpen my performance under pressure when it matters most as a leader. If they can quiet a war-zone brain, they can bring peace to any leader."

Jen · Tech FounderNancy Shadlock
MA · Certified PQ Trainer · Founder, Centered Mental FitnessNancy has done her time in corporate, feeling trapped by the Golden Handcuffs, before choosing to build something of her own. For the past 14 years she has run Centered Mental Fitness, which means she knows the leadership roller coaster from the inside. The uncertainty, the isolation at the top, the way your own thinking can become your biggest liability when the stakes are highest.
She has sat with CEOs navigating succession, founders trying to close their series fundraising, and leaders carrying the weight of an organization's culture entirely alone. In every case the work is the same: making sure your own inner state is not the variable that undermines the outcome.
Her gift is helping people hear themselves. Not telling them what to think. Not arriving with a binder full of frameworks. Creating the conditions where your own clearest thinking finally has room to surface — often for the first time in longer than you would like to admit.
Your Investment
Two days.
Intentionally small.
Leaders in this room are typically navigating decisions worth 10 to 100 times this investment. The question is not whether you can afford two days. It is whether you can afford to keep making those decisions from where you currently are.
